Ombre is Ugly

Ombre is Ugly

Ombre is ugly.  There.  I said it.  Hair, dresses, wall color (yes, I saw it on pinterest), it is all bad.  If I want trashy looking roots, I will just save money and skip my quarterly appointment at the salon.  Don’t pay for that when neglect gets you the same result.  Okay, okay.  I am being a little harsh.  I have seen variations of it that look decent and more like subtle highlights, but that is few and far between.

That is all.

The Dark Side

I think I am part of a disappearing species.  Women everywhere are going to the dark side…

The bf and I were at the Stars game and spending more time watching the ice girls than the hockey game; they are fascinating and never break their smile. We noticed that of approx 20 girls, there were 2 blondes.  Two!  Aren’t cheerleaders supposed to be blonde?  I had a hair appointment the following morning with my highlight man, Andy.  He confirmed that this is not merely a result of hurtful gossip and it is indeed true.  Dark locks are trendy.  *Gasp*  The blondes will not be D listed!  My signature color will stay in tact.

Of course there will never be a shortage of buxom blondes in Texas, but there are definitely fewer.  I can only hope that the blondes that are converting are those that give us a bad name.  And those that are part of the buxomly group.  I plan to continue my reign as President of the Itty Bitty Titty Committee.

Chic Clogs

The clog is back with the sophisticated 70s fashion trends.  This makes me so very happy.  I skimmed fashion magazines on my flight to Seattle and almost squealed with delight as I flipped page after page and saw all the variations of these beautiful shoes. It also seemed appropriate since I assumed Seattle was full of clog wearing hippies.  I was off a little but more about that later.

Some might say clogs are frumpy or dowdy but I disagree.  If they are good enough for Marc, Tory, and Pedro, then they are good enough for me.  It can be a bit difficult to walk briskly in clogs but shouldn’t you slow down to smell the fresh leather…err roses?

Hoping they would come back in style, I secretly stashed my old clogs from my college days.  While I am telling secrets, I can also admit that I wore my beloved clogs way longer than socially acceptable in the fashion world.  Thankfully I had enough sense to dump the overalls that completed the ensemble (overalls are back too by the way).  Clogs will be a prominent part of my wardrobe as soon as the 85+ degree days leave Dallas.  Bring on the cold.
